Plant description
‘Flavorcot’ is a remarkable self-fertile apricot variety known for producing superbly flavoured, egg-shaped fruits even from a young age. Pink-tinged, white blossom appears in early spring, followed by striking yellow-orange fruits with a red flush, ripening in late July in sunny, sheltered positions such as a south-facing wall . While ‘Flavorcot’ is relatively hardy, hand-pollination with a soft brush is beneficial due to its early flowering. To ensure a successful crop, protecting the blossom with horticultural fleece is still recommended when severe or prolonged cold is forecast.
