Plant description
Almost like two flowers in one, this double-flowering Clematis has a soft ruff of central, spikey-looking stamens that persist long after the blush-pink ray florets (each with a darker pink band along their midriff) have fallen following flowering in late spring. With the strong possibility of repeat flowering at the end of summer, ‘Empress’ is great for meandering through shrubs, climbing roses, or scrambling up containerised wigwams and obelisks.
