Fig ‘Dauphine’

A large fruited, self-fertile and frost-hardy variety of fig, ‘Dauphine’ ripens to a violet-dark blue colour with a slight velvety grey covering. Productive and vigorous, and historically recorded as having been grown at Versailles, the fruits are described as having a papaya and cane sugar flavour with a drop of honey – fit for a royal princess!
